howdy ya'll...

just got my 1000 from ebay and it's not working so good!

first I had to switch the powersupply coz I'm in europe and all.
the supplied one gave 9VDC/1000ma so I bought a new one
with the same specs.

But the drive wouldn't spin up, and when I checked the voltages on
the drive power connecter, it only gave 9v on the 12v pin.

could it be that my own powersupply is not up to par with the demands
of the snap (cheap piece of shit!), is it really a 12v supply that i need or
is the built-in 9v->12 converstion borked?

please assist me here fellow snap'ers!
thanks!

My 2200 ps died, the power is 12v dc, 35w, 3.5a

So i bought a 4.16a 60W, 12v. Get one the same voltage but more watts and amps.

Hey!

My 2200 ps died, the power is 12v dc, 35w, 3.5a

So i bought a 4.16a 60W, 12v. Get one the same voltage but more watts and amps.

Yeah, I kinda figured out it was 12vdc when I took it all apart and the 12v on the
hd connector was directly connected to the input.

I bought a 12vdc/2.5a ps, and it works like a charm.
little dissapointed by the xfer speed though...

thanks!

i got my snap 1000 without a ps so i used the one that came with my lcd monitor (i wired the moitor to the 12v from my psu) - it is rated at 4A (48w) so i should be able to run two drives perfectly (although i havent tried) (btw poogles the 60w must include the power used by the transformer as 4.16ax12v is 50w)

I got one with NO p/supply. Can anyone tell me what the polarity is (center +ve or -ve) please?

I have a SNAP 1000 and SNAP 1100 and they both use a 12VDC 3.5Amp + on the tip power supply.
