Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced that Half-Life 2, the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed PC titles in gaming history, will ship to retail outlets around the world in November. The Company confirmed that Half-Life 2, developed by Valve Software, has gone gold with a planned retail street date of November 16, 2004. The countdown to the highly anticipated retail street date has begun around the world, as VU Games completes plans to ship localized versions of Half-Life 2 simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese.

Looks as if those of us who still care about the game have something to look forward to :D

Yeah, I just read the beginning of that review too (didn't read the whole thing because it said there were some spoilers in the review) and I'm as excited for this game to come out as I ever have been. Anyone else gonna play the original half life through again to prepare for HL2? I am :D :D

Here is the PCGamer review of HL2... giving it a 96% Good read if you don't want to pay the $10 for the magazine. I read through it already... there are some minor spoilers but they do warn of that in the beginning of the review.

Yeah...... what he said ^^^^

My PCGamer issue looked nothing like that. Where do you live? In my issue they gave it a 98%! What's going on here???

*Edit* Looked at the location under your avatar. Wisconsin? Why would they sell a different issue in Wisconsin than in California????

I started the preload this morning at 4:45 am. At 6:15am, it had only transferred 18% of the preload. Is it that huge, or are they throttling their bandwidth?

At this rate, it MIGHT be done by the time I get home from work.

I didn't scan the mag myself so I am unsure of it's originiation. I just copied it to my FTP server and put it up so you guys could read it if you wanted to.

I thought it was something like 8Gb?

By the way, I'm not at all interested in HalfLife itself - I'm after the Day Of Defeat stuff. :)

After reading the article I think that it is from the UK (as they give the price in pounds)

Yeah, I see that now too.

Nightfall, why do you get a UK version of PCGamer if you live in Wisconsin? (or do you not live in Wisconsin and your location under your avatar is wrong?)
