Ok I've been out of the loop for a LONG time and I am looking to build a A64 platform for my wife for christmas. I would like ot know what is the best A64 heatsink and fan combination out there at the moment? I would like to use something quite and reliable, but with the room to allow me to attempt to overclock a little bit. Is the alpha HSF any good? What fan would you guys recomend?

You're going to put an 80mm fan on a 120mm heatsink? ... use the full surface and put a 120mm fan on there... a PAPST is really quiet

alpha's good, but it doesn't have any chances compared with TR XP-120 (or XP-90, if your mobo is tight).
Good fan ? If you can get it, that would be GlacialTech SilentBlade 120mm (950 RPM, 37 CFM) ....excelent noise/performance ratio.

Whatever you get make sure it has heatpipes.
Heatpipes contain either water or r-132. Either increases the heat capacity of the heatsink, thus keeping temperatures more steady. The xp-120 is awesome. The xp-90 is also very good. For 12cm fans try the cooler master LED fans on newegg. I have three of them on a BI Pro 3 mounted outside the case via a radbox. They are three feet from me right now and I can't hear them.
The great thing about the xp-120 is the fact that you can get reasonable performance with a low noise fan. Froogle it for the best price (won't be newegg, they are charging about $65, others charge $49)
Hope this was helpful
