hey there all,

i'm going to be running 2 80w peltiers for my next project. somewhat like dh3, except i thought of it first http://www.procooling.com/ubb/smile.gif and i'm paying for it myself. i wish i could get free stuff. anywho, i just read an article here (supercooling and insulation) about peltiers and whatnot and it mentioned an older ps (63.5w XT) being "retrofitted" to put out 480w. how does one go about this? i have an old 200w AT that i would love to power my pelts with. please inform us all

Well, that was my article.. didn't use any of the guts from the PS, just got some transformers, rectifiers, and filter caps to make a linear supply... they are cheap, and work fairly well for pelts if you have enough fitler capactiance and large enough transofmers... or, check ebay or something for linear supplies... cheaper than switching, but they weigh a lot http://www.procooling.com/ubb/frown.gif

I got 2 48V @ 5Amp supplies for $2 each, plus $20.50 shipping each... hehe.
