I've have a Snap Server 2200 with 2 80GB drives that are mirrored.
The mirrored disk has gone out and I want to replace it with a 160 GB drive and also upgrade the other drive.

Can I just replace the mirrored drive(bad drive) with the 160 GB, format it, break the mirror, and then mirror it again onto the 160 GB drive and then do the same with the other 160 GB drive?

software version is 3.4.805
hardware version is 2.0.3
and bios version is 3.4.758

Yes and NO.

By chance was the failed drive the second drive (1) (ID: 10010), bottom?

If so there should be no problem. The snap will format and prepare the drive. It may or may not do the mirror. May show up as an orphaned drive, being different capacity.

Will send you instructions on repairing an orphaned drive if you PM your email address.

If you break a mirror back to JBOD, ALL DATA MUST BE ON DRIVE 0 (10000) or WILL BE LOST.

yes the failed drive is the 2nd drive
I'm pretty confident about putting in a new 160 GB drive and mirroring from the 80 to the new 160
but after I get this done will I be able to mirror from the 160(disk #2) to the other 160(disk 1)

Is the OS on disk 1? or is it in ROM?

The OS is stored on both drives in raid1. NOT IN ROM on a 2200
If it mirrors without intervention, it will the second one. Generally you can mirror to a larger or equal, but not to a smaller drive.

GO FOR IT

The worst thing you may have to do is issue a cmd from debug.
