I need a new network card and I was wondering which one I should buy. Money is not really a concern so any help is appreciated.

I like the NetGear Nic's for most machines. Or check out the 3Com Server Nic's with the hardware encryption ( makes using IPsec and such faster as the nic does all the encryption on its own).

Go for a 3com network card.
Even the lowest model, it's still a good quality one.

if you want the best get the 3com 3xp, top of the line.

RealTek 8139-based cards own.

Many manufacturers use these chips and the drivers that comes with the NICs or with Windows won't cut it. The driver development over at RealTek has been inredible over the last year and I think they deserve a better reputation than beeing a low budget solution.
RealTek updates their drivers often and have great support, forget the support you get from the company that put togeter the card, the company that made the chip knows the drivers better.

If I had known this a year ago I wouldn't have put down the money for my Intel EtherExpress Pro/100 which can be three times as expensive (!). The Intel card works equally well though.
