Hey guys. I'm part of an extreme overclocking project that's gearing up right now.

I've been doing my research and have come to the conclusion that the best way to have a chance of achieving the project goals is to start with pre-tested CPU's. From there, we can see how far they can be "pushed".

I've been lurking the site for a while and would appreciate any leads to reliable dealers for pre-tested CPU's (AMD by preference).

http://ocz.safeshopper.com/?993 has VERY VERY VERY nice pre-tested OCed stuff, even graphics cards and they have THE best memory around with some memory pre-tested stable at PC175 2-2-2 timing. Anyways, check them out and they are very high quality and nicely priced.

ocz offers memory stable at 175 3-3-3, not 2-2-2, but they do offer pc160 at 2-2-2.
as far as cpus..they offer an amd pretested cpu at 1420-1530 Mhz for $400...not too bad. But i'd wait for palamino's to arrive mid Q2 of this year (april or may) and then invest your hard earned mulah on something that can really be overclocked > http://www.procooling.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well you can order from OCZ, but you will prolly wait 5 - 10 weeks to get yer stuff, if ever.

I just PRAY you dont get a DOA product, cause they will blame it on you.

and dont expect any confirmation emails or anything that would show some concern for the customer.

Thanks for that heads-up Joe.

I'll be sure to avoid them.

So basically as of now, there are no places to buy pre-tested AMD TBirds separately?

BTW: www.pcnut.com (http://www.pcnut.com,), www.azzo.com (http://www.azzo.com) sell pre-tested Intel CPUs.

If at first you don't succeed, slap on a 7k rpm Delta!

Well you can try OCZ.. but no crying when your chip is DOA. or if they send an intel instead of an AMD.. or any CPU in the box at all... man thats a great company!

lol.. well, OK, so the point is (for all you eStore buying newbies!)..

Don't buy from "The Overclockerz Store" ever, ever ever.
