Hi.. I have an old celeron 300a doing nothing and I want to overclock the living daylights out of it. I have a ASUS P2B motherboard. I will be getting watercooling setup soon. I have read that you can unlock the multiplier lock on the celeron. But can't find the link anymore. I don't care if I have to mod the chip. This cpu is doing nothing just collecting dust. So if any one know how to unlock the 300a I would love to know. The asus p2b only have a 133Mhz FSB so with out unlock the cpu I will not be able to get past 598Mhz. All ready have it running at 450 with alpha heat sink and fan.

Thank You,
Aaron

None of the celerons are unlocked. Most of the P2 233 and 266s are unlocked though.

I believe it was when Intel went from .35 to .25 micron that they locked 'em up. And all Celeron's (at least the original series) are .25..

Some PII-350's are unlocked. We have 'em here at work in some older machines. They're always good for 3x133=400Mhz
