Hello all.
Right then straight into it!
Can I...
Overclock my laptop from 1gig to anything greater?
WHY?
Why not, thats why I read and dream about some the stuff that goes on, in this wicked site.

If that is not enough then how could I use my Plextor 12/10/32 ide with my lap top with out the need of a desk top?

I have looked at the Freecom bay but was wondering if anything out there is just as good or cheaper,
OR
A do-it-yourself kit would be even better!

Many many thanx

I look forward to the interesting replies!!!!

Both are interesting and possible.

what speed does yer notebook run at right now?

To get the IDE deal, if you open up the machine and find the IDE header that the drive runs to you MAYBE could hack that somehow.. but it would be very risky and very hard. Yer better off just going with a PCMCIA or CardBus IDE card and going from there.

Well thank u for the quick response!

The laptop is an Advent 6410 bought from PC world.

It is running:
P3 1000
128
20 gig hd
14.1 screen
etc

As it is brand new i am reluctant to open up the little badger!

Because I am new to the world of laptops The little PCMCIA or CardBus IDE card, could it be SCSII?...FOr my next upgrade! (Maybe?)

What data transfer rate are these cards?
If that is the case then I could use an external harddrive as well!
Yippee!

Anyway could I get this little baby running quicker?
From a gig to 1.1?
I am currently trying to draw up a copper base design for the laptop to fit into. With an external psu I could get a couple of fans running, but remember I am reluctant to drill the laptop due to warrenty etc!

Many thanx,
I'm now wide awake and awaiting the response!
