how about monitor painting?

What would be a good idea for painting a monitor? just masking tape over the screen, or what? anyone done it before? it doesn't seem like too tough of a subject, but i don't want to screw anything up!

I did this a long time ago, but it turned out pretty well. I took the whole monitor apart, spray painted everything, then put it all back together.

Of course, you can easily kill yourself if you touch the wrong parts in there, not to mention killing the monitor...

Yes, I suppose that would always work, but I'd like to avoid killing myself like you said. That always ruins your day.
