What is a heatercore?

I have spended some tiime thinking and asked already a mechanic, but what we have concluded, is that what you call the heatercore is the one marked in the picture.

If so, that thing is quite big! Is it that?

EDIT: where does a guy buys heatercores? Im trying to get an 2-144...

That's what mechanics here call the radiator.

The heatercore in a car is a smaller radiator that is used to heat the air in the passenger compartment.

i agree with since87..

it mostly looks like a mini version of what you have circled in the pic, but is usually located under the dashboard with some kind of enclosure around it and ducting.

do a search on ebay. you might find something there. if ya dont mind paying full retail try autozone.com or a local junkyard- i'll be trying the latter as i have a few not to far away.

AH!

Thanks!

EDIT: Any place that ships to portugal?
The 2-144 is a Buick electra from 1964.

Why bother . Go to a junkyard.

You could make it easy on yourself and include the possibility of a transmission cooler. They have tube diameters of 3/8 ID however, I believe they are more efficient than the heatercores. Heatercores use 1/2 ID on many models. (most?)
