Would i need something special for this 120mm fan?

The Fans Pick the Last 120 one It is so fast and yet so loud and yet so great. Do I need anything special for it?

I pointed that fan out to him ;) I wonder what the cost would be, and the availability

cristoff 03-10-2002 07:14 PM

hmm... finger armour huh?
would a 300w psu do it or not? probably need something like 400 huh?

Brad 03-11-2002 12:01 AM

you just need a spare 2A on your 12v line on the psu

cristoff 03-11-2002 08:56 AM

and that means ....? hehe... sorry a little power challenged...

what does the .75a mean for cfm on this fan here

Brad 03-11-2002 06:25 PM

well, it's 24v, so running it off a computer psu would make it 12v, .37A

a normal computer psu is 8A - 15A on the 12v line

It'll probably be OK so long as you're not running a ton of HDDs/CD Drives and other case fans. You might some stability issues with your current PSU though. Still I hope you realize just how loud that 120mm is going to be.

24w is a lot of juice for a fan. besides that, it's kinda rediculous to get such a powerful, not to mention noisy, fan. kinda impractical.

Brad 04-06-2002 06:02 AM

yeah I agree warp it is a little stupid. 4x 50cfm 92mm's would be much more practical noise wise, and draw much less power

mkosem 04-07-2002 12:06 AM

do you realize how loud that really is?

--Matt

Brad 04-07-2002 05:10 AM

yes, I have 6x 47cfm 92mm fans here right now ;)

ECUPirate 04-10-2002 02:23 PM

It says it needs 3A to start up...
