Snap 1100

Hello,

I had the hard drive on the snap server, but someone took it out and used for other purposes. I do not know where this drive is now. I have installed a new hard drive in the snap server a 300GB hd. Will this work. If so, how do I get the the files needed to copy to this new hd to get it going.

Thanks

This should work, but you'll need to get an image file on to the hard disk. You can find the details on how to do this in the WIKI section - look here. You'll need to get an image file to put on the HD from somewhere.

Ssend your friend the bill for a new 1100. Then He may think twice on savaging parts, or at least ask.

The OS is stored on the HD. So you will need to locate another 1100 or 2200 snap (or image file) and copy the first 25meg of the HD. This is where the OS resides. Instructions are in the wiki section and I think I linked to it in the FAQ's.

For 300gig HD will need OS v 3.4.805 or greater.

How can I get this image file. I have the instructions but I need the image file. Can you or someone provide me with it.

Thanks

Ya know David, I say this all the time, but one of these days I am going to have to get around to making up some Quantum 30 GB drives ready for a 1000 with a FUBAR HD/OS.

If it was me, the guy would be doing all the work to get the snap up and working, out of his pocket. Other wise if he instsalled it into his desktop pc, I would remove it and install back in the snap. Returing the favor he did to me. ALL DATA LOST.

Andy the 1000's use a different OS load than the 1100's.
