Zalman WB3 Gold waterblock - thoughts on the design?

Hi,

You know about waterblockdesigns in here so I would like you to write your thoughts of the Zalman WB3 Gold waterblock.

The waterblock is interesting because of the base is circled and smaller than the heatspreader of a Pentium 4. The heatspreader of the Pentium 4 have a bad contact with the core compared to AMD so it's good to have a copperbase not covering the cornors of the heatspreader so it bends down and makes better contact to the core (wich is the reason of the socket 775 stockcooler design).

I found reviews of the waterblock, but that's of the entire Reserator kit and passive cooled results don't say much.

I attached pictures of the waterblock - it's the one on the right. The thread is 1/4" so it's easy to install 3/8" or 1/2" barbs.

most often water blocks are designed to cool the die (heat source) so they dont need to be as big as the IHS. although i would not buy the zalman ones they are not that good of blocks.
