swiftech questions
was looking at my newly acquired waterblocks and noticed a certain "anomaly".
http://wootitude.com/haha.jpg why is the AMD block more er...glossy relative to the P4 block? its odd as all the blocks should be similar in material and quality |
maintaining a consistant 'finish' is proving to be a bear
the work is ongoing |
I think I like the dull one better.
|
the matt finish is the norm
|
we are looking at painting also
you guys have any preferences ? think wb one color, bracket another ?? |
havnt really opened up the rest of the swiftys i got. but, the a64 block had a matt finish too. and i find the 650's box a tad oversized?
|
black and red. Make the bracket have a large cut out [H]

ok, slightly exaggerated response now someone will say "DD", bleh |
It depends on how much bling can you take Bill :)
I vote for blue and black, or blue and silver. |
hey, this is ALL bling
I want it so blinging bright they'll have to wear shades when looking through their blinging case window |
How about a blue S for the bracket, where the two mounting pins go through the two holes of at the top and bottom of the S.
And a silver base with swiftech on it in black writing. |
You can call it the
MCWB6002, - B for bling! |
To be honest, I like the way they look just the way they are. And if you want more bling, you can polish the outside of the block.
|
I think a highly polished top would give lots of bling! then throw on a painted bracket, or even make the bracket out of aluminum and polish that as well. Bling! Bling!
Or you could even do a a special version with a chrome plated top :D |
ok, another contest:
- understanding that this is not a new topic here at Swiftech, http://www.swiftnets.com/products/colors.htm (please disregard the connectors no longer used) for anyone comming up with a design (cougem's above is an example) that is subsequently used by Swiftech on the MCW6000 series, I will provide a freebie of their choice (wb, pump, etc. - not a kit eh ?) |
Who picks the final design we submit?
|
Would this be a similar coating to that used on HWLabs rads? I've had several barbs "lose" their paint over time on those. I think I'd rather have copper than that.
The Blue ones look slick, but there should be an option for "platinum plated holddown with diamond encrusted Swiftech logo" to go along with it :) Or at least nickel plated a la Thermaltaco stuff |
BTW, those colors are fabulous:D
Why don't you offer them? |
Also Bill for improved bling look into UV additives for powder coating. You can make a part appear one color under regular light but glow a completely different one under UV...
|
Got it! [S] Make the [] part where the bolts go through and S to cover the top of the block..
hehe..j/k:D |

I just try to make 'em work (WELL) I would set up a poll but this is the lunatic fringe of WCing before I put diamond(s) no the top, it'll be on the bottom another REALLY big problem, how do our distributors stock these combos? then the kit buyers are going to say "no, I ONLY want yellow and green" etc making bling is the easy part, how to actually supply it is another - don't DIYers paint any more ? |
What about just bare primer (must be brown) with a duct tape logo?
|
pH
I think you just qualified (UV) this is crap, you already have everything we offer I'll send you a not-released pump to play with |
Pro/Bling!
|
Polished stainless steel bracket that covers all (most) of the copper. Seeing the copper seemed to be the universal "not so bling" opinion by most reviewers. Maybe brushed aluminum...w/ "Swiftech" etched...
