Hurricane Isa...erm...I mean Delta
 

Luckily the UPS driver braved the remants of Hurricane Isabel to deliver my order of fans. The stars of my order were 4 Delta FFB0912EHEs. These are rated at 110CFM/0.6inH20 at 55dcb. When I first plugged them in they flew over my desk and dangled by their cords. Once I managed to restrain them they were disturbing some papers on the shelves 6ft away from them. Luckily they will run at as low as 5v and at that speed there quiet.

I only plan on using 2 of the on my rad but I got 4 because the place had a min order of 25$.

I got some 120CFM Delta 120mm's at home. Very loud and very fast fans. I paid $1.99 each for them a couple years back. Can't remember where I got them though..... Should have bought more.

I am going to pick up 2 120mm fans that push 152 CFM! These are at cooltechnica. only $10 each, but shipping is extra. i am going to pick up a rheostat (someware), to lower the fan spped when use is at a minimum..

Those 152CFM Delta's have been out of stock for quite some time on the web site.

Considered them myself, but opted for the 130CFM ones instead.

The granddaddy of all axial fans has to ge a Delta FFB1212EHE, 190CFM.

Hopefully you won't try the thing I did to see if the fan was spinning when it was on low voltage - tried to touch the centre of the fan to see if it where turning (counln't see the fan) put finger in blades - hurt like hell and ripped all the blades OFF the fan - a spinning hub doesn't move much air.

Been there, done that except my finger gave more than the fan. Those 120cfm'ers have tough blade's.

Also that link sevisehda postes I am pretty sure is the place I got my 120's for $1.99. Don't see them there now though.

yea, i cut my hand on one of those stupid fans. and it only pushed 80cfm

After a little accident(computer rolling off desk) I did some reworking of the airflow through my case. Originally I had 3 fans, 2 of the 92mm Deltas sucking air through my rad and then 1 120mm exausting air out through the PS. After some brainstorming in another thread I got the idea to have no intake and move the 2 92mm Deltas to the normal rear exaust fan ports. The idea being since my case is sealed the only place for air to come in is through the rad. Well it worked except the 120mm on the PS wasn't moving any air because it provided crap for pressure and the 92mm were overpowering it. So I made a small 120mm>92mm fan adapter and mounted another 92mm Delta to it.

So I now have 3 of the uber-fans sucking air out of my case. At 12v and 55db a piece its quite loud, luckily they still move enough air at 5v. The only problem with this arrangment is to get any cooling the sides have to be on the case, so clearing the CMOS is going to be a pain from now on. Once the last coat of tar drys I'll fire it up and post the results.

Soyo makes a 6-way card reader w/ a reset-cmos button,use it alot w/ testing OC capabilities of new bios, CPU, mem, etc., :D

The HD bay and wiring looks looks like crap, its just there until I can fix my RAID0 array. I smashed an IC on one of the drives and am trying to find a way to recover the data from the drive. I'm also planning on replacing the Johnson pump with a dual setup of some kind.

Once I get some chocks made I'll put the casters back on. I'm thinking the 3 exaust fans will be strong enough to propel it across my desk.
