My firs attempt at watercooing

I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. I need your comments and suggestions, good or bad!!!! :)

I should add, what you see is just the cooling case, the water will be plumbed to the mid tower housing the computer.

I guess this post belongs in a different area,, Please move

In service yet? Performance?

Bigmack 07-04-2004 06:36 AM

Still under construction. I need to build the attachment device for the cpu block along with several other items.

Bigmack 07-04-2004 01:06 PM

Here is a first time run. After two hours of running sisandra 2002 burn in test on a pentium III 800 slot 1, the temp is 73.6 f with an ambiant of 71 f. I'll have more info after I install MBM5 with some OC'ing and some pics.

Bogus Temps

 the initial temps I saw were way off. The temp probes were a cheap set from comp useless. I installed mbm5 and got tems of 75F idle and 84F at 100% load :D running sisandra2002 burn in wizard in a loop. There is also a picture of the pump box that I am using. The Cheap temp display is measuring the temp of the memory and the area next to the processor core against the water block.

Gurues of Cool,,, tell me what you think

JFettig 07-04-2004 08:53 PM

edit, woops, I thought it was on your barton:p

Bigmack 07-05-2004 09:01 AM

I wanted to wring it out completely before applying it to the barton. Unfortunately the pentium III 800 was the only other processor I have availible with any apreicable heat output.

Nice block. Looks vaguely familiar. :D

Bigmack 07-05-2004 06:40 PM

I kinda' got the idea from the site logo.

:D :D :D IT's ALIVE!!!!! :D :D :D
I want to express my gratitude to all of the people at ProCooling and in these forums!! Without your knowledge and expertise, my system would not be a reality!! :p

The waterblock is not the block I had posted previously in this thread. I constructed a block patterned after Slaterspeed's channeled block(SPC1)http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...7&postcount=14
. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures but it has a few more channels than his and the top is acrylic, about an inch and a half thick. the nozzle portion is an eigth of an inch across. I did a rough flow measurement of the system with a gallon container and a stopwatch. The system flows 1.25 gallons per minute.
I have realised a drop of 10 degrees on the cpu as compared to the volcano 11 with a vantek tornado 80mm fan. the ambeant at this moment is 70 deg f, motherboard monitor says the cpu is at 95 deg f. this is while running DFClient.
The gpu is at 27 deg c as shown by RivaTuner. Running Aquamark 3 gave a max temp of 36 deg c with a final score of 38247 (DFClient,IE RivaTuner, ect still running at the same time). See my sig for the card type. The vid card is oc'd to 501mhz gpu and 850mhz memory. Previous runs of AuquaMark 3 showed a max temp of 71 deg c with the stock fan. An Outstanding Drop!!! :D :D :D

Best of all, I can now hear my wife sneaking up behind me with a frying pan!!!!

NO MORE SCREAMING FANS!!!! :p :p

BTW I'm writing this while hurricane Frances is knocking on my door (or at least the southern half)

:D :D :D Here is a screen shot of how my system is running now. A full 300mhz overclock on a Barton!! :p The green trace in SpeedFan is the cpu, the red is the gpu, grey is the case, and the blue is the grafics card ambiant.

Here is a link to some pics of my nb and gpu blocks http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...4&postcount=90

congrats on living my dream =)

Mine was only a dream untill I picked up the first tool!! :D
GO FOR IT!!!

My current block is patterned after Slaterspeed's channeled block(SPC1)http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...7&postcount=14 here are some test results (innaccurate though they may be  )using the on-board sensors.

These readings are at stock speed. AMD XP 2800 duron at 2080mhz,333mhz fsb, stock voltages, on a Mach Speed DBL 400 Moboard. The memory is Ultra DDR2700 1gig from Tiger Direct
