I was searching through a box of copper pipes and crap and found a few of these copper fittings with threaded ends on them. Gonna go maybe buy some more of a smaller size and put them on my heatercore.

Yeah, I used them on my heatercore. Makes swapping out fittings much easier:

Yeah, Im using the same one with a barb fitting screwed into it.

I just asked the person at the counter for a fitting that will let me connect 1/2 inch pipe to 1/2 inch barb. He gave me that (1/2 inch pipe to 1/2 inch npt female) along with another fitting (1/2 inch npt male to 1/2 inch barb).

It's either called a "bushing" or a "pipe-to-thread adapter".

Yeah... the term "bushing" is used quite liberally!
