I like it too. It'd allow you to prime the pump very easily, and make it much easier to drain the system. I'm surprised no one else thought of it (me included).

awsome, i use a T right before my pump, similar to what you have setup there. However, my computer is yet AGAIN out of a case, so who knows what i will stay with (t line or res)

Uuugh, I can't agree... I've got the same sort of deal, (check my post about high idle) with a massive 1" PVC-T and it still takes a deal of time... the best solution that I've seen is going with the high out/low inlet res tube or rectangle. The air almost immediately leaves the water and with your and my current similar setups, the velocity of the water still pulls LOTS of air into the system, but it sure does make for easy filling!
