guys,

since i am living in dorm, I need to build a slient computer, I only used one fan, which is blowing toward video card and hard drive from the front panel. I got Zalman cooling tower Reserator 1 v2, so far I have that connected with cpu, vga, and northbridge.

now, my cpu temp is at 39'c, system at 41'c, gpu 48'c, and I can feel the warm on my cooling tower. I am think to add one more water block on southbridge, if I do that that will rise up the temp. even more. do you guys think that will be ok?

Run a CPU and GPU load program and see how high they get. Also keep track of the room air temp. Air temp dictates your computer temp so if it rises so will your systems temps. Find the hottest part of the day and run a load test and adjust parts as needed to handle it.

General rule is keeping CPU under 55C and GPU under 75C under load. However as long as it is stable in the most sever conditions (full load highest room temps) then it is fine.

Don't bother with a south bridge water block unless it feels really hot, they don't usually need it or benefit from it and It'll just add restriction to your loop. Also remember that passive can work done right but even a bit of airflow can make a big difference. Placing that Zalman tower near your window (If you live in a cold place) or with some breeze over it might make your temps better. What hardware are you running?

I acctually started with almost the same system. only the Thermaltake cooling tower Reserator 1, already then i thought my system run to hot.. So i started to uppgrade it a little.
Now I have accutally a modified cooler from an Ford Escort. Ripped off the plastic sides and welded in new aluminium sides with nipples that i used Legris couplings.
I also have one triple-fan PC radiator, The Black Ice.
I had one leak on my CPU cooler who was vith an acrylic front, (so i will NOT reccomend that to anyone) so i got the top of it done in Aluminium.
I am cooling the CPU and two of my hard drives at the moment ( C: = raid 0 with samsung spinpoint.) Starting tomorrow to build some new coolers for my 4 other internal Hard Drive's.
I am using a waterpump from Eheim (1250).
My configuration is as follows:

Let me say that i am NOT a gamer, so i don't put to much money in the GPU.
But i find the Samsung disk VERY quiet, and i have the same problem as you. Sleeping in the same room as my computer.
As i said it's nice to have a silent computer..
