Sled_Dog 10-28-2001 08:53 PM

Real men watercool... and cool women do as well

decodeddiesel 10-30-2001 06:14 PM

pffffft.....aircooling  it's for OEM PCs and Volkswagons.

Sled_Dog 10-30-2001 07:41 PM

I remember that sign someone made on the [gay]forum of aircooling is for volkswagens I think I have it somewhere.

Edited by Kevin: I fixed the forum terminology ;)...

Air cooling is for those who are can't afford watercooling yet.

I spent my 36 bucks on a SK-6... I now have everything except my drill press... Once I get that, watercooling will comence!!!

mad mikee 01-04-2002 12:35 PM

Yeah aircooling is crap....

(Check out the earlier post) Thats why my cpu (XP 1800) temp is at 36.5 c under full load...... (artic silver must have settled a little more.)

14 fans? Are you deaf yet? Aside from the fact that that probably isn't the correct temp if you are using the Mobo socket probe (air seeps into the socket and throws off the temp) you setup is undoubtedly loud as hell. I can get those very same temps with 1 fan at 5v and VERY VERY quiet (Bladerunner is the only truely silent watercooler).

ksw 02-11-2002 07:54 AM

wonder how many people that have tried to make an cube in thin aliminium and put 5 fans on it and the side W/O fan (hole there, like under all fans) facing heatsink. that would push pretty much air through it, even if u use quiet fans.

iceheart 02-11-2002 09:46 AM

Perhaps it would start to levitate?

ksw 02-11-2002 09:58 AM

naaah. anything but that. it would proboly sound like a fat truck running @100mph but that is another thing... not to care about....

not too shabby for air cooling only 1c over ambient

res0r9lm 03-24-2002 08:10 PM

acually 1c over case temps thats the beauty of a duct is that it's getting fresh air from outside of case which I estimate at 23c
