here's my very first attempt to create a waterblock.
first time the block had a tiny leak, water got out of the taps for the screws. then I added a copperplate to create jets and did some improvements. first block, after the leak. I only noticed it after a week :eek: |

what's the green stuff? was it because I didn't use antifreeze and an aluminium radiator in the loop? notice the star shaped design |

The green stuff would b copper oxide judging by the colour in that pic. I dont know if anti-freeze would help prevent it, though the aluminium radiator is most likly the cause of it. It is through a process called electrolitic corrostion. How ever, if it feel slimy, it would most likly b algee of some sort, and would b stopped by adding round 5~10% antifreeze or some other bioside to ur coolent.

CRAP. attach was too big, my stuff got lost :mad:
here we go again: stuff to improve performance #1: use two smaller cuts to connect the holes instead of one #2: design of the block above the CPU die, should I go for a) a star-shaped like my current one? b) #rotor style c) an attempt to create mininchannels with my dremel? #3: direction of the water flow. either the water goes from the inlet straight to the outlet. or it makes 2 90° angles like mine atm #4: jets, what's best? a) three small holes right above the holes in the CPU block b) two small holes right above the edges of the drilled holes c) long vertical cuts in the plate these are the things I've been thinking of for quite a while. what do you, the Pro's, think of this? I think some small tweaks might shave off several degrees again :) |

What processor are u planning on cooling? If its an athlon i have some linkage. Me n Jaydee curently workinging on a drill dremmel design based in the rotor ides for athlon cooling with out pelts. Its based on block he has just finnished designing and currently test, and results for it and looking v. good. Here's the link ne ways, take a peek:
