after paint is applied to a car surface and let to dry it will have some texture. If you wet sand with 600~2000 grit sand paper you can remove these undulations...then polish and it is a mirrow finish.
I would like to avoid the polish process. If the powder coat will reflow then that would be the cat's meow.
