It is yet it isn't. The very basic stuff is Windows user friendly. Perfect for web and e-mail as all that is pre-setup for you. However installing applications can be a real nightmare as with video drivers.
Lot of pre-installed stuff in Ubuntu and they have auto updates to keep everything up to date.
