Edit: My bad whacked in the wrong numbers, into a calculation i think. i'll summerise it below im not sure what they are refering the area to.
C/W = 1/(u*D*D)
D=50mm (say for a big ihs mught be 50mm on side assumes constant temprature distribution which is wrong0
u=1000 (a good guess for their graph values)
c/w=0.4 (this does not include ihs or intergrated block heat spreader values i.e block thickness to take care of temprature difference in the cpu core)
One final edit, it should be noted that their cooling "fin" is rather small
