I hate blue. I'll be using orange and red, but I don't have that setup yet because it's the absolute last step in my project.

I used a granite block to step up from 600grit to 800grit, then up to 1000grit wet sanding paper with white vinegar. You sand 10 times in one orientation (NOT in an orbital patter) then rotate 90 degrees, and repeat.
