I beg to differ. I am currently running a gentoo box off of a WD Raptor SATA drive, driven by a Promise SATA150 TX4 Serial ATA adapter. Runs perfectly. What sucks, however, is support for ATI RADEON9700pro. I cant get X working for the life of me.
