Thanks for your post.

I didn't get any CDs with my unit, so i didn't want to risk losing the OS and having a brick. (I didn't know how the drives were set up).

I had already followed the swap plan that you mentioned (albeit without breaking the RAID first).

I haven't seen any downloads available for the Guardian OS - it seems i need to purchase a support contract with adaptec which sounds expensive...
