Default nForce4 Ultra passive cooling?

I have a Gigabyte K8NXP-9 based system which I am trying to civilize and
one candidate for attention is the heatsink/fan on the nForce4 Ultra.

The following article contains a good description of the K8NXP-9
including a picture of the nForce4 Ultra package and a couple of
pictures of the heatsink/fan:

The heatsink is 40mm x 40mm x 10mm and appears to be aluminium. The fan
is an Everflow S124010DM which is entirely embedded in the heatsink.
One side of the heatsink/fan is under the PCI Express graphics card (I
have a Gigabyte 6600GT VIVO) which limits the height available.

I haven't managed to find a specification for the existing heatsink/fan
or any information on the heat output of the nForce4 ultra. How could I
establish that a passive heatsink would be adequate for the job?

One possibility might be one of the Cool Innovations UltraCool IV Pin
Fin Heat Sinks:

The closest match appears to be one of the 4-1515XXU range:

As the through-board mounting holes are neither are neither inline with
the middle row of pins nor at diagonal corners a suitable mechanical
attachment would need to be fabricated. A tall version of this heatsink
could be used with the pins in one corner trimmed to avoid contact with
the graphics card.

Has anyone tried anything similar?

I see that the instructions for the Swiftech MCX159 range (way too tall
for my system!):

http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcx159.asp

advises the use of neoprene pad stabilizers with FCBGA packages like the
nForce4 Ultra. Where can pads like this be obtained?

Thanks in anticipation
