you said you are hooking it up to your vantec 420...just to make you aware the 12volt line on that may not give you the current draw you need and may hurt all performance...i know that a 226 wont run on a computer psu thats not powering anything else it ends up running at 10V and like 15 amp or less when it should be 12V at 25A you are probably 12 at 14 amps or something so it may work just dont put too many on it.
