A temp probe on my vnf4 ulrtra reads 45- 49 ( 48 currently, cpu ambiant 25.8) all T= C. Software reads the temp as 34 (not on die). The stock (lapped) Chaintech hsf is at 5000 rpm. Any passive solution will need enough air blown on it to make the term passive inaccurate.
the CM stacker fan placement on left door is not correct to cool my chip, but I have the hard drive cage fan up on the same level so the air will cool the chipset area.
I will be moving to water cooling soon and will water cool the chipset, that sucker is hot.
