My RCC250 project (Radeon Copper Cooler) - 56k warning

Hello guys and girls

You probably already know form the title what RCC means. It is Radeon Copper Cooler that *I* made . The number beside it is the weight of the heatsink in gramms.

Here is the whole procedure of making the heatsink.

It all started with a piece of copper, 20mm thick.


I had to trimm down the big piece to dimensions that I wanted. The piece of copper on this picture below weights about 700g.


Then I began to saw the grooves along in the copper.


After the grooves along were done, I had to make the same grooves transversal that I got really fine fins.


Here is the finished heatsink. I only had to polish the bottom


And heatsink with polished bottom:


The bottom of the heatsink is 4mm thick so that the heat from the core can freely distribute to the whole surface of the heatsink.
