Just started building (or preparing to build) a HAL9000 mod for my PC. So far I have been thinking that it will be constructed completely out of aluminum and will measure 12"x4"x(a value that I have not decided upon yet).
I'm not sure if I want to try and get my current PC in the box when it is finnished or get one of the VIA miniITX boards (mabye a few of the new NANO-ITX boards and have them run a mini folding farm (SETI maybe, FAH probably).
I thought I should set up this thread for any recomendations or criticisms on how I am going to build it (I have just become enthralled with 2001:ASO, and it seems that alot of people are really interested in the movie too).
I just won the lens I was going to use for his eye off of ebay (

and I just posted a proposal in the FS/FT section of the forum asking for maching help (
http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=11441 ) in making the ring that goes around HAL's eye (PS I need help hosting a few pics of its dimentions).
After it is finished I am going to make a theme around the 2001:ASO sounds and computer screens (DaisyDaisy when I power down, "I am a HAL9000..." at powerup, screensaver of all the computer screens in the movie).
