FWIW...
I had to trim the tubes off of my 2-304, and the stubs left are 1/2" brass pipes, the same as if they were copper tubes. I'll be soldering 1/2" fittings on them.
The point is that some tubes are enlarged to make a specific connection, and that it may not have anything to do directly with the size of the tube that's soldered on the tank.
