This is the speed you need to go down per on revolution. Ex for electrolitic copper and 8mm bit , suggested rpm is 1100 and feed rate is 0.18mm/round, so from this you calculate your speed of drilling : 1100 round/min*0.18mm/round= 198mm/min,so quite fast, but note that this parameters are meant good machine with good cooling, so if your machine slow down when you start drilling that means it lacks power, so the only way is go slower, go in/out more often to remove the cuts and maintain cooling and lubrication, clear now ?

ps. most of the copper you can buy is electrolitic, so this one is harder to machine.
