I love the open design of the mounting plates. Elegant. Air still counts, and besides why waste metal?

But what are these slits in the holes for? Are they just from tooling or are they functional?

They'd be from tooling. Looks to me like they were cut with a wire EDM.

i wish i spoke chinese, i always wondered how much it would cost if i just took in a design in and asked a shop to do a run of a few... the labor would be fairly cheap... i always used to pass a bunch of cad/cnc shops on my way to school... well only 4 days left.. doubt i'll find out now...

king, how much would you say one of you WW clones costs all things included? ( in RMB)

I work at a shop, The labor is between $50/$70 an hour, I also have my own little shop.

A single block could take between an hour and more, mainly because a lot of times the mill will need to be set up.

but i suspect the labor cost in china wouldbe significantly reduced
example housekeeper:
in the US: $12-15/hr
China: $0.75~1.00/hr
