I see Corsair got it right this time around. Too bad many enthusiasts already know about Swiftech.

the Hydrocool never even had a chance after Hocp modded it
disadvantages to painting ? might get scratched ? fingerprints ? our inhibition is regarding the visual inspection - what to do if NO defects are permitted ? and be assured that many customers insist on perfection |

How does Swiftech sees itself after this (large OEM supplier?), and how strategically do you position the Swiftech branded products against this (also Swiftech) offerings seeing that there aren't any differences?

After all, marketing even with a good product has a big role on sales, decisive perhaps, be it by praising technical values or commercial ("mundane"?) ones. No speculating intended, ( I understand the position you're in), though certain trends seem to be developing. |

no, in English 'bling' is a product attribute or characteristic
marketing is a part of the sales activity (preceeds it actually, and selling is a subset) |

bling and marketing are not the same thing
Personally i see bling as cheesy ugly 'style' ; gold chains, big rims on crap cars... style that isnt stylish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bling Bling is 'flashiness' for the sake of it - in product form, form over function, or in worst cases form instead of function. Bling is most certainly a negative word; personally I wouldnt use bling on asethetic qualities of some products, but would on others. Example - Thermaltake aquarious 3 is certainly bling bling; watercooling for the sake of it; attempts to look good but looks like something out of a childrens action cartoon ![]()

By the way, found this LINK dated from 8th September 2004, already noticing the moves between Corsair, Delphi and Swiftech, concerning this watercooling kit.
Quoting: "Corsair were showing off their DDR2 solution running on a ASUS board. It was a simple show of their Pro modules. However, it was interesting to hear that their Hydrocool watercooling solution is now EOL (end of life), this is due to Delphi who were building the blocks for them are now doing the blocks for the new Dual CPU Apple G5 system. We knew this would happen since Corsair are relatively small in the 'cooling' industry and Delphi wanted to capture the large OEM deals. Apple just happened to be the first. Corsair are working with Swiftech to develop the next watercooling solution, they will have the RadBox, and CPU block from them. They will have an internal system and also an external system which will take a little longer. The pump which they will be adopting is from LAING who we know for a fact are a big partner of Swiftech. We see this as a positive move, we like Corsair products and Swiftech have been in the watercooling industry a long time." |

Les
are we becoming, or is our awareness increasing ? "Not discouraged by you", a tad unclear should I have a 'role' ? the serious consideration of bling is being forced upon me by the success of products having such as their principal characteristic, and even more compelling is the preference for bling at the specific expense of performance there are indeed 281 pins, no idea on the other lots of forums are viewing the Corsair kit with depreciation, what should be remembered is that Corsair has vastly greater market 'reach' than Swiftech - they should do rather well as the performance is better than the Exos and such |

In reverse order;
Choose your own role.- circumstances sometimes divert. Awareness - number of variables identified increase - dilution of understanding may increase. |
