Default Snap 4100 Java Issue

Okay first the specs:

OS Snap 4.0.860
4x60GB HD (RAID 0 w/1 Spare)
128MB RAM

Issue:
Our 4100 kept crashing every week with "free inode" & "free buffer" errors. Our support on this ended 3 weeks ago so I'm on my own now. The last thing Adaptect told me to do was format the snap server & set it back up from scratch.

So I took their advice. We used to be using RAID 5, but we have since replaced the 4100 as a production file server with a 410.

Afer setting up the 4100, I noticed the snap extensions were missing. I tried to re-install them (4.0.860 server_sync & jvm sup files) via assist.exe utility as well as via web interface. Neither will install. The actual sys.sup went through just fine though.

When attempting to install via web interface I get the following error:

Processing file empty.txt
2 of 34 files (5% processed)

Please enter a valid path.
The path can contain up to 254 characters. The following characters are not allowed: * < > ?

Here is what I've done so far(reboots after each item).
-reapplied the sys.sup
-ran jvm engine enable (was not running & keeps reverting to disabled)
-ran jvm ram 24

Most of what I tried was from the Force Java on Snap 1000 topic b/c I feel like I'm having to force this extension back on.

Okay hopefully enough info to get started. i'm open to suggestions, tips, ridicule, whatever... I would just like to learn what i'm doing wrong & how i can fix it.

thanks guys!

Sure beats Adaptec. I was on hold with them for 42 minutes before someone answered the phone about my question regarding snap RAM & backup speed. The call was over in 5 minutes with him saying nothing more than, "Well, it won't hurt."
