So plug in a pump to those copper pipes, connect waterblocks, and freeze semiconductors?

Any estimate on how much a month it costs to run, how loud it is, or how cold you can make CPUs with it?

I feel the need to upgrade to "real man cooling" and this just might be the way for me to go

with a drift-0.8 on about 11.3v open air, no load... with clean water.

the unit itself , well not very load... but then not very quite ether... manageable

hmm that IS real man cooling I presume coolant temps below zero sans pelt? How much below though?

I dunno if I can afford to power the chiller plus the pelt continuously though...

have not had this one on a properly rigged CPU but I can pretty much imagine it would chill the shit out of even a presshott....

proper insulation and running with antifreeze... I'd think sub zero full load on your 1700+ should be attainable without a TEC...

if you install a thermostat, it can be a real handy little gadget... I ran my chillers at about 10% Duty Cycle, mainly to save on bills... and that 10% was enough to get me very comfortably below ambient..... I stand correctable, but to me it seemed like the stretch where the returns where max is from +20 all the way down to about 0º. Anything below 0 and the returns begins to negate agains the costs of running at those temps....

my Duron600 from way back could do what it did at -3ºC taking the temp up to +15 only cost me about 50Mhz but the saving in that obviously made it very much worth my while to not run full blast all the time...

so ya.. it can be very economical, and it can be very expensive, depends on the "volume knob"...

Was it converted to R-134a? The compressor is designed for R-12...

no

the guy I got it from said it was R134... so I took his word for it...

I was wondering why this little devil had no trouble in kicking my chillers ass.....

My neighbor's an HVAC guy. Based on talking to him (and a few calculation of my own), it should handle a 100 W load at -20 C, maybe a bit colder depending on refrigerant charge.

Shame I'm broke.

Why are you selling it #rotor? Looks like a great unit. I am sorely tempted; could use -20C water

I'd guess so since #rotor is in ON. But you'll have to get in line
