Clear PVC vs Acrylic?
I have read some posts suggesting staying away from acrylic for various reasons, mainly that it does not hold up over time. Just on a whim, I googled for clear pvc, and to my suprise found where it can be bought at several locations. I was thinking of building a res with this clear pvc, but was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the durability of pvc in a loop.

It should be fine as it is made to carry water and stuff. I have never had a problem with what little acrylic I have used. Polycarbonate/lexan is supposed to be far better though.

The key is in the adhesive. In my trials, I found that PVC cement works very well, but because of how I built it, I had to complete the seal with plumber's Goop. I went with acrylic and PVC fittings. (link in sig)
