Default [H] Converts... quick question

Lots of new peeps here have said that they used to be big on the [H] forums, but have more or less switched over to the Pro/Forums. That's rad! Just outa curiosity, how did the word of mouth spread you way about these forums? How did you hear about them?

I found the [H] before procooling like a year and two months ago. I found Onda's joining AT psu's together article. Then I read DH3, etc, and wandered into the chat. The forums never interested me that much, but recently I've moved away from the [H] and posting a lot here instead.

I could spend two hours a day in the [H] forums easily, looking at what people had done. Now I wander in every 2nd or 3rd day and have a look for any interesting stuff. Quite simply there is too many stupid people asking the same stupid questions again and again

I came across procooling by chance, and liked what I saw. The people here are excellent. You can always get your questions answered. I would have to say, the name I see the most is Brad. I would like to thank you for taking the time to answer us.

I'd been to ProCooling many times but not regularly until the last 6 months or so. Frankly, what attracts me is that the articles have meat to them. DH3 showed HOW to do something, and why it worked. The reviews have lots of data to back up the conclusions, not just a couple of bar graphs. OnDa's article on PSU's had info not found anywhere else. The articles, reviews, and other postings have brutal honesty to them too. There's no hype.

I could go on, but that's why I prefer ProCooling so much.

I have been reading Procooling for quite some time (probably for over a year now). I am always been impressed and awestruck by the quality of writing, interesting ideas, and outstanding projects. I was big on the [H] (over 2.5K posts) for quite some time, but latley I just can't stand it. The level of maturity here vs there just isn't even compairable. As to the forums? Hell I don't know, I think I was bored one day and clicked on the link at the top of the page.

I just Googled Pro Cooling one day while searching the Net for info on Pumps and waterblocks.

I never liked [H] forums though... but that's probably because I don't like [H]ard OCP either...

Don't know how I got here but I'm sure glad I did! I've been visiting H|Forum for over a year and it got to the point were I stopped going. Too many lame posts with no reason reason. I swear the single goal on that forum is to spam!

Pro/Forums might not have the volume the the H|Forum has but this is WAY better. Like I said in an earlier post, I've gotten more correct (so I beleive) answers in a week than I've ever gotten from H.

my .02 cents

To be honest, I don't remember how I found this site. I remember what made me come back, tho.

All the micro watercoolers (pro/mini, etc.) and the holy radiator roundup, mmmm

I've always visited ProCooling, but I was never a big forum person. I started posting at [H] because there used to be decent posts there, but just like Brad, I found the posting started to truly go to shit, as did the attitude of the posters there.

Noobs would ask the same questions in 10 different posts, bump when nobody answered them, then get pissed off when people continued to ignore them...only because the folks who knew the answers were sick and tired of posting the same answers in 100 different threads...folks just don't know how to search...

At first, it was funny when people got mad cuz people wouldn't search for themselves, then they changed the policy about flaming for non-searchers and then the forum all got shot to hell...

I have to say that if I get banned for telling someone here to do a little research first, and search first, then you might as well ban me right now...

Perfect example...I'm trying to figure out how to vmod a northwood, and I could just throw up a post, but I think it's more fun and rewarding to dig through the datasheet from Intel first. I found the configuration, but haven't found the pinout yet...just gimme some time...

http://www2.justnet.ne.jp/~kiti/Paso...orthwood01.htm

the vid 1 and 4 are connected by default, connect up 4 and 3 like he did to get to 1.7v default, it's the easiest as those pins are on the outside

I had just gotten started in trying to learn as much as i could about watercooling... well i've known about hardocp for a while and i was posting there. dunno what made me change... cept for maybe the attitude of the ppl here... the quality of the posts...

yeah searching is a good thing... problem was at hardocp is that there were usu 12k posts to go searching through about watercooling... i usually had real burning questions in my head that i wanted some quality answers too... and amoung those 12k posts about 11k were posts to go search

so i came here... and i got all the answers i needed... plus a few things i didn't think about... and a few ideas of things to come....

This is just a quality places to get good answers about watercooling....

[edit] and another thing.. the ProForums have never been down while i have been here... unlike the other place where there isn't a day that goes by without it being down [/edit]

See I really don't mind when people ask questions that have been asked. That means they are new around here. If we've seen the topic before, let's search for it ourselves, link it to the person, and call it a day .
