Default İ need help about Snap Server 2200

Hi;

I have Quantum Snap Server 2200 160 gb without hdds...I want to connect it new hdds...I need help to make it work...

Information about Snap Server

Quantum Snap Server 2200 160 gb
70700183-001 rev B (writing on the flash chip)
8029** serial number
I have no ideal which OS or bios version in it...

What is the hdd upgrade capability of this snap?

You said without HD's. The OS resides on the HD's.

You will need to copy the boot tracks from another 2200 HD's, or from a image files someone may have created. If you know the person who pulled the drives, have him copy the boot tracks. The instruction are located in the wiwi section of the forum. Most all 2200 support LBA48bit addressing, so currently 750gig in raid 1 is the max with the proper OS.

Adaptec will sell you a HD with the OS preloaded for a $$$.

Thanks for the reply...

The person who sold me this server had no boot image or boot tracks on any drive and it has been so long...
I dont know anybody that has Snap Server here...And people dont know anything about them...
So i need someones help who has snap 2200 boot image...is it possible to send this boot image from internet? I thougt is it legal or not..but its liesence was paid when it was bought...So is it legal or not to have a boot files of another snap which its liesence is paid before from another person?

(i have linux cd)

If he did not install and use the HD on a pc, it was there. Pc's can not see the bsd file system.

It is not possable to send the image over the internet. It's copywrighted material and Adaptec is really hard when it comes to enforcing it.

I'll take the 2200 if you want to sell it

But as i said before its licence is paid when it was bought...i m not looking for an unpaid illegal copy..May be it is not as i think..

How much a snap 2200 without hdd and power adapter cost?
