Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
The 4.0.830 is a full package.
Update through the Server Settings, there is a update os option. Just select the sup file and you should be good to go.

Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
So after re-installing the OS, changing each disk back to JBOD, reformatting both disks, and creating a new mirror, I still get the "This page is not available because no disks were found" error when I go to the View File/Folder Security Status page.
I wonder if the OS reinstall really worked. I would think that Reinstalling the OS would make all network settings, users, shares etc. go back to default. But after reapplying the snap_sys_40830.sup (twice actually) all my settings and users etc. stayed the same. |

Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
Something is still awol. Did you think to check it when it was in JOBD?
Reset the snap back to factory (4 led blinks). If you issue the co de format XXXXX /reinit This is required to remove all data structure on drives. But I don't think it will remove users settings.

Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
Is there a difference b/w using the Format Disk admin page and issuing the "co de format XXXXX /reinit" command from debug?
After reseting to factory defaults using the last option: (Reset IP address, network settings, shares, and file/folder security - File/folder security includes file/folder access permissions and user disk quotas.) Error remains...even though it appears everything else was reset. |

Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
Well I tried doing most of the operations and continued to get the same error message each time I visited the page in question. Oh well, I suppose I could get the 4.0.860 patch from adaptec...but I think I'm going to continue working with it as is to see if I notice any other problems. If not, I'll assume its a fluke and continue with the original test.

Re: 2200 Orphan Mirror Repair - Error
Sorry to dredge up such an old post, but I would like to add what worked for me in a single post.
I too was getting the "Unknown Error -4 in configuring a MIRRORRED device with members: 10010 10000" error on a 2200 I had a good 10000 (top) drive and a failed 10010 (bottom) drive. I had to use co de format 10010 /reinit to format the bottom drive Reboot. Wait for it to format. Then info devices showed 10010 as JBOD and 10000 as Broken Mirror. I then issued a co de config individual 10000 to set the good disk as JBOD as well as the new one Reboot Then issue co de co mirror 10000 10010 to copy the data from 10000 to 10010 reboot and let it rebuild the mirror overnight and all was well. I hope this benefits someone else in the future. |
