Default Radiators....again.

Ok...I'm really ready to get the show on the road here.

But, I still haven't pinned down a raditor yet. The cost really isn't an option as long as it's under $150

A 156W TEC will be used:

What I'm currently looking at is a Lytron 6120. But, I'm wondering if maybe the new DD 5" radiator might perform better using a pair of them. Two of these would still be cheaper than the Lytron.

Or maybe 2 of the DD cubes?

As for a pump, I think I've decided tentatively on the Eheim 1250.

Still haven't decided on a water block. I wish there was something like the DD amazing block that incorporated the Swiftnet's hold down plus the pre drilled and threaded base for bolting on a coldplate.

Speaking of coldplates, where can I get a 3/8" thick copper coldplate?

I've given up on trying to figure out how to cram all this in my case and have decided to build my own. Should be interesting.

If you want a very high performing radiator, check out condensor coils from A/C units (I think it's what the DD cube radiator is... I think, can't remmeber what his looks like for sure). You can find them very cheap in recycling yards, and usually in ok condition.

I have one and it works well... cools 3 84 watt peltiers to damn near room temp (they are powered at 60% input for now).

Alives:

Why? Because I can. Bigger the better, right?

Rich:

Thanks for the info. I just wish I could find charts like this for all the different radiators. Would make choosing one a teency bit easier.

ck42, depending on how big you want the rad you may want to have a look at www.mocal.co.uk. Look for the pressed plate oil coolers.

Phil00:

I've seen other brands of oil coolers that look just like those. Problem is, they don't seem to list a performance chart either.

Vegetta:

Yep....seen that one too. I think I've pretty much seen them all at this point. Big Momma doesn't give a performance chart as well. I realize they have a 'comparsion?' chart showing different radiators and their performance, but that info is pretty much useless....well, not totally, but pretty much for what I'm wanting.

depends on what u want to do...

only watercooling -> 1/4" (cause its cheaper)
1 pelt+ -> 3/8"

the thicker the better.. (till a certain degree)

there is a comparison at oc's.com -> http://www.overclockers.com/articles305/
