No way! my reformat was GREAT! ( if you know how to do a backup )
I have become soo good at reloading my box, I hjust have a script that does a dum[p of all my critical data ( site data and such) to a disk array on one of my servers., then captures any directory info I may need. then reboots. I run solely Windows 2000, so the reload ROCKED, I went and striped 4 of my 5 SCSI 9gigs, and also in the process got rid of EVIL Dx8!! ( that was the most ****ed API I have ever installed.), my system ran awesome after that! It used to have some trouble with OGL apps and would run them slow and occasionally lock up. now its rock solid. before rebooting it last night it was running for atleast 2 weeks 24/7 and my record was 3 months for my machine under w2k Reformatting when well timed and well planned is a VERY good thing. ------------------ C-ya Joe - Owner/Editor www.ProCooling.com Where the Completely Addicted Come to Cool Off Somebody set up us the bomb. |

Formats Rule!
Is it just me... or does it seem like Joe, Linux, and myself are always bugging each other? I agree with Joe on this one... I like reformatting, tends to get rid of any evil presences, and avoid the evil tendancies of my parents to f#&k things up. I'm finally building them a computer and wiring a network line to their office so they can share in the wonders of DSL, but that's against the point... Anyway, I reglary(sp) format about 3-4 times a year, esp since I like playing with multiboot os's and stuff like that, which can really cause problems (I once has a 6-boot machine, nt4wk, w2kpro, wk2server, linux, 98se, beos), and it's just nice to clean it up every once in a while... Thank god for the network & cd-burners... else it would be a pain in the a$$ on drivers thou. heh... When it blue screens, Reboot When it boots blue screens, Reload if that doesn't work, Just Shoot It! ------------------ T-Bird 850@1017 - KT7 Raid - 256 PC133 CAS2 - WinMe Dual Celerons 533@670 - BP6 - 256 MB PC133 CAS2 - Win2KServer |

well... MY problem with formats is that i only have one ghost disk that was for my older computer, so when i do it, i have to setup my network card first, and then send the driver files over the network, its a real pain for a newbie like me
p.s., yea syan, we are bugging eachother,,, i believe it is a conspiracy!!!! ------------------ AiM-xXBrickHouseXx |

heheh i wish i had a network or a CD writer or even a second hard drive to copy my data on to whiole formatting.. well at least I have a second partition... but i always end up forgetting something... i.e. address book, etc. but it's always nice to start from fresh.
as for the procooling colour theme.. gonna experiment with that and let ya know |
