TO be honst with you I dont have much expirence with pelts to let you know if you can get subzero, the important thing to remember is that you want your peltier to have twice as many watts as your processor puts out. Go Rich W.'s peltier article on the cover of procooling.com and read through some of that, futher more download a program called "Radiate" (also found in that article) and find out how many watts of heat your processor will put out

I use a 156 watt TEC on an 850 t-bird that's at 1100 right now at 2.0 volts and my temps are about 15-20 celcius, don't know if I'm doin something wrong, but if you get similar results to me, you won't get close to zero.

Hey J,
What power supply are you using to power the pelt?

I doubt it... my duron 1 gig was in the mid-high 20s w/ a 156w pelt. But my water was getting really hot so it may have just been the fact that my radiator wasn't good enough.

I doubt you will get sub 0 temps. I am going to be using a 156watt pelt on a 1.6Ghz Tbird and only expect to get mildly cooler.

Soon enough I will know if it pays to evey deal with a pelt on a Tbird that fast.

before i fried the chip from condensation, my 1.2 @ 1505 with a 156W peltier powered by a 15V 35A power supply would get up to 26C under full load...

I was getting temps like that with straight watercooling...and i didn't have the HUGE temp difference from idle to full load like I did with the peltier...

I think i'm done with pelts for now...unless I get brave again, heh

You won't hit below zero... unless you use chillers and awesome radiators and shiot like that.

This is what DrRom did:
http://www.overclockers.com.au/ubb/F...ML/000497.html

And the write ups on http://www.overclockers.com/ under peltiers.

Albeit with a 172W peltier.

Cheers

Memphis

Take the guesswork out. Use software to model your system before you implement it. Melcor's Aztec software is free, melcor.com. Kryotherm (where tedist gets their pelts) also have theirs DLable www.kryotherm.spb.ru
