1 Thermister split to multiple connectors?

Just got a digidoc 5+ and noticed that its set to have a 1-1 ratio of thermister to fan, thus to power on/off a fan is based on 1 thermister lead. Well I'd like to have multiple fans tied to a single thermister (inline in my watercooling). So would it be possible to have multiple connectors wired into one thermister? (Parallel I suppose), and have it work? Basically so the 3 temperature connectors on the digidoc all read the same thermister? Would this work?

No it wouldn't - at best it won't work, at worst you can nuke your digidoc; the sensor circuits aren't designed to be tied together that way.

is there any possible way to split the reading from 1 thermister to multiple sensor inputs? Ideally what I'm trying to do is keep fans on the radiator off until the water temp hits a certain threshold, and if it keeps rising turn more fans on etc. However I really only want to stick 1 probe into the water... Any ideas?

Hook all the fans to the same plug on the digidoc, just don't exceed the max current allowed per header.

Well the idea was to turn them on in series, its a 120.3 rad with 1 fan on each side... so if it got hot enuf turn on the second fan, even hotter the last fan.. etc.

3 probes then, or wire up your own controller.

Ok so if I need to go with three probes I would probably want to put them into the rez, what would I coat them with so they would last? And can the wire be submerged into the water or will that obviously bugger everything up? Or what would be the best way to get 3 probes reading the water temp?

RTV sealant would probably do the job. Wire will be fine as long as it's insulated.

If the sensors are flat, you could likely just use frag tape to attach 'em to the outside of the header tank (and maybe insulate the back side with some closed cell weatherstrip tape or such like). It won't be accurate enough for telling exactly what your coolant temp is but it had ought to be plenty good enough for controlling fans.
Just a thought, of course...
