Default Snap 110 disk upgrade failed

Trying to upgrade a Snap 110 from 160GB to any larger size, but not having much success.

I am using a 1TB Hitachi 7K1000.C (which sucks because of its periodic noisy calibration). Imaged the original 160GB disk to the new disk and am able to boot successfully. Successfully upgraded to from GOS 4.1 to 5.2 and wiped all settings. After 5-10 minutes under no load, the heartbeat and HDD LED's light up amber (second and fourth LEDs from the left) and the unit stops responding. Serial output doesn't show any panic or weird messages when the LEDs are lit amber.

Did lots of verification on the Hitachi disk (spinrite, read/write whole disk with dd, Hitachi factory diagnostics) and I'm pretty sure the disk itself has no integrity problems. Also tried setting the disk back to SATA 150MB/s mode.

Suggestions?

Also tried a 500GB Seagate 7200.12 and that results in the amber LEDs as well. Wasn't even able to keep the unit up long enough to upgrade from 4.1 to 5.2.

edit: typo, meant 5.2 and not 5.5

Does the original HD (still) work?

I hear a lot of trouble on the 110 & 210. There was a 210 with a booting problem about 6mo ago. I think you need to do a BIOS change if my old age memory is any good.

The unit (mobo, RAM, CPU) and the 160GB disk are both good as they run together under GOS 4.1 without any problems.

Looks like the BIOS got updated to WAV40602 when GOS 5.2 was installed.

Code:
Updating BIOS from WAV40502 to WAV40602
Snap Server Flash Update Program
   Revision ( 1.37 ) Date ( 2009/03/06 00:57:26 )

Here's the related thread...older BIOS won't boot (at all) from a 1TB drive.

Could you post a screen shot of GOS v5.5 . I'm not sure there is any thing past 5.2.056.
