download these:
http://jgsr.mine.nu:233/vfdprog1c.exe http://jgsr.mine.nu:233/vfdsettings.txt this is dan dude's new progy. it saves your settings. just place both is the same dir. LCDC works with this VFD and ikonis @ the [H] can tell ya how. (read that long all thread....) I'm happy with dan dude's app cuz my oem mobo won't benefit from mbm.

I got mine, now I have a question about it.
The jumpers on the back... Obviously I want it on 19200baud, and LCD yes? (it came shipped 9200 baud and Intel as the settings) but what about the other jumper? Also, what's the deal with the two brown headers on the back of the PCB? What's their purpose in life?? Also, I assume I cna just use LCD Center to run it, beacuse some of the links you guys posted are broken... I can host files if you guys want.

you want 19200baud and Intel and norm
A guy made a definition file for the VFD to use with LCDC, and a lot of ppls have gotten it to work. I've not had the time to try it yet. LCDriver 2.0 DOES support this, but it's still being tested 4 other features. http://jgsr.mine.nu:233/vfdprog1c.exe http://jgsr.mine.nu:233/vfdsettings.txt both those still work. Quote:
can you post a pic? FYI: BG Micro says they only have about 200 of these left. (a few hundred have been purchassed by the [H] ppls. An LCDC tutorial should be on the [H] soon. if/when I see it, I'll post it here.

I'm home now.
I don't have any brown ones, but I do have 2 white ones near the ground pin. I have no idea what they do.

Those are tests of LCdriver v2 If i remember the thread right... I'm using LCDC, and you can create custom screens to look exactly like that. The only thing missing right now is that sweetass winamp plugin visualization that LCDriver v2 supports!
there is a link somewhere on the [H] forum (uck) for the "driver" file to run the VFD through LCDC. It is total sweetass.

HEY TECHGUY!
I just noticed a MAJOR flaw of tha bracket!! DO NOT SOLDER YOURS UP THAT WAY! The positive should NOT Be on the switch! It should be the negative because your case is a NEGATIVE and the phone jack's contact is touching that bracket! Kinda see what i'm saying? You should make the Tip of the phone jack positive so it is isolated from the bracket! That guy is in for a surprise when he puts it in his case and it trips his PSU instantly.

I just noticed that. good thing that's not mine :-> Everyone who uses the headphone jacks has the hot setup as the end of the minijack so that you don't pass the hot thru the ground. it appears like that guy did it backwords :-> LCDC is that LCDCenter you mentioned. I can't find a URL atm. if you get bored it is in the 74 pages . I IMed the guy who knows about LCDC 4 the URL and I'll let you know when he responds...

MSComm.ocx Here is the URL for LCDC; LCDC Homepage Here is the .df file that goes in the Definitions dir for LCDC do a right click save as; IEE Display Definition And a sample setup file that runs a few programs, also save that in your LCDC Dir; LCDC Sample Screens I cannot get mine to read correctly for free disk space and what not don't know if it is just because I am blonde or what ? Rabid hardware did a great howto as well that will more than likely be a good read for you, I am using Dan dudes prog, defaulted to serial 1. Following the how to's on Rabid hardware will really help; ::RH:: BG Micro VFD Howto Well I hope this helps a bit, I hate digging through [H] Posts and finding things. J
