Hey, coming together nicely. One thing looks odd to me, in all the pics of the fans, they both seem to be blowing out from the rad. Don't forget to turn one of them around 8P~

Would'nt it be better to tilt/spin the HC over 45% on its axis, so that the barb is level with the pump inlet?, the other two barbs would be placed better for routing to the CPU/ect, if you do you might have to resolder the barbs though cause they are at a funny angle though...
Fans look OK to me... |

The fans are not right and were only placed on the heater core to take photos. The entire system needs to be taken apart for final polishing and sealing of the brass so it will not tarnish. |

Doh!, so they are!, I can see the wires now I look closer, I thought they were OK cause I could'nt see the white writing...
Doh again!!, I meant 90Deg(how do you get the small deg '0' to show up?, I don't want '%'), Flip the rad 1/4 turn to the left, so that the barbs are on the lefthand side facing into the case instead of pointing upwards is what I mean... Last edited by MadDogMe; 12-19-2002 at 10:43 AM. |

If you tip the rad on it's side, then how do you insure that air isn't trapped in the rad?

[Alt] + 0176 --> ° (You need to use the number pad to make this work.)
For future reference, you can get the special character numbers from character map.

I still cant do it, try telling me again in foolspeak ...
Same way you do in 99% of any H2o rig, pick it up and shake it , or you could solder the filler on the side(top), most air clears out with usage anyway, specialy if it's at a lower point in the loop... |

Yeah, guess you could put one in from the side. The pick it up and shake it method should work OK for first set up, but I was thinking in terms of once installed solid in the case, I wouldn't want to have to take it loose to check it for air from cavitation or where ever.

I have the same radiator that DogeViper does (just without all the extra barbs ) on its side and I dont ahve a problem with that. Personally I think it helps to reduce resistance on the whole system becuase the water is constantly moving up instead of having to flow down and then be pushed back up to the top of the radiator THEN throught the rest of the system. My theory.......
DodgeViper: you realize that we both use: the Eheim 1250, TC-4, Dtek Custom Radiator (same color even), and now the same MB......... now either we both know how to build water cooled super computers or that is just a weird fluke!

I have never had a problem getting air from the system. When I used a T-fitting with tubing running to the top of the case, it would take about a week for all air in the system to bleed off before capping the fitting.

Mine worked out the same day, with a little help ...
I put my filltube/airtrap at a very low point in the system as well(would be lowest if incase) and it worked perfect, put it on a 15mm Cu 'T' in front of the pump inlet, would/will work perfect for when it comes to empty/bleeding the system as well. who says you need a fill And AN EMPTY POINT BOTH EH? ... whoops I'm to lazy to type that again, but not this explanation, go figure eh?... |

Here are a few photos of the poly flange on the fan and another with the seal attached. I still need to cut the side panel.

Here is a photo of the finished other side. I am hoping the water block tops arrive tomorrow.

I like your design DV, But since You don't have an Air Filter on your Fan Intake, Don't You think that You might have problems with Dust accumulating in your Radiator somewhere down the road? Or at least I can't see one at all.

Well the Filter I'm using can be plopped into a dishwasher from what I've been led to believe, It's an abrasive scouring pad like the Home Depot sells for $2.88 (8 per package) and It's 6"x6"x5/8" in size and Dark Green in color, Plain old Suction is holding It on over My fans Intake Grill and My system/cpu temperature hasn't gone up from 73F since then.

I just installed one of the Arden Companies (Abrasive Scouring Squares) earlier today It was one I bought months ago at Stater Brothers Market, But They don't cost all that much $2.19 for (0.73 each really) 3 - 6"x6"x5/8" or $1.19 for 1 (Same Size as the package with 3 in It). I'll get back in a weeks time and see how good They are, They should be better than the 1/16" junk that most PC online places sell, Those 1/16" poly filters still let in dust after a week or two (It all depends on how often the PC is on really).
They cost $2.88 for 8 or 0.36 cents each.... (or just $3.12 with 8.25% Sales Tax or 8 for 0.39 cents each). And these are 6" x 9" pads, My 6" x 6" piece is held in place by the suction of one of My Sunon 120mm fans (Front Intake). Click Here First, to go to Home Depot Click the Link under Cleaning Supplies/Cleaning Tools/Brushes-Scrubbers on Home Depots website under Product Catagories and then It's the 4th Item for sale (down from the Top Item). You can Buy these pads online at the Home Depot too. As one can buy something like this at Home Depot, Stater Brothers or some where else like this. Shipping is not included in the quote of course, I just included Californias 8.25% Sales Tax (As Its the highest rate in the state, I think.).
